Dr John Barratt

John Barratt

Dr. John Barratt is a Chartered Psychologist and teaching fellow at Leicester University, where he is course director of the Occupational Psychology and Psychology of Work Masters programmes. He completed his PhD at Aston University examining recruitment and selection in the UK adult social care sector. His research interests primarily relate to the role of personality in relation to job performance and satisfaction. John applied insights from his research interests to the design of Care Character. He has wider interests in factors influencing wellbeing at work.

Prof Steve Woods

Stephen A. Woods is Professor of Organisational Behaviour and HRM in the Work, Organisations and Management Group at University of Liverpool Management School.

He is a Chartered (Registered) Occupational Psychologist in the UK and works as a practitioner extensively with businesses and organisations globally, especially in the areas of HR assessment and development. He is Director of Care Character and Aston Business Assessments, who provide specialist digital assessments.

Professor Woods’ main specialism is personality at work and his research in this area focuses on psychometric and personality trait assessment, and personality development and change at work.

He also conducts research on recruitment and selection in organizations, with special interests in how to ensure fair and effective assessment and people-analytics procedures.

 

 

Will Shepherd

Will Shepherd is the CEO at Cohesion, a position held for 12 years and he has been working in recruitment for more than 25 years.

Cohesion specialise in recruiting care workers, combining the best of digital technologies, human engagement, proven assessment techniques, and engaging on-boarding.

Will’s passion has always been finding the right people for the right job, never more important than in care, where great care workers can deliver outstanding care for their clients. This led naturally to an interest in Jon Barratt’s PhD research in to recruiting care workers.

Care Character is optimised when embedded within an efficient, engaging and through recruitment process, and both Will and Cohesion continue to seek enhancements to a process that is so crucial to both the care sector and the wider society in general.
